Rosario Dawson got her start alongside Chloe Sevigny in Larry Clark’s 1995 film,
Kids. By the time 2002 rolled around, she was starring in Spike Lee’s
25th Hour (with and ) and Barry Sonnenfeld’s Men in Black II (with and ), and in 2004 she was cast in Oliver Stone’s
Alexander, as was and . Rosario always plays her characters with spunk and sex appeal, even in the worst professional situations (such as 2001’s
Josie and the Pussycats).
Rosario hit it big in 2005, starring in two of the year’s most anticipated films:
Sin City and Rent. She delivered a hot performance in Sin City, playing a tough-as-nails leader for a group of female vigilantes. In
Rent, she was able to help bring the hit Broadway show to the screen and gather rave reviews in the process.
Sin City 2 and Clerks II are just a couple of the six films Rosario has lined up for 2006. If she plays her
Sin City character, Gail, with the same enthusiasm that she brought to the original, we’re in for another dose of streetwise sexiness and femme-fatale attitude. Rosario is riding a wave of previous film success, and she should easily catapult into the public eye when she takes the lead role in
Descent.
