Sung Hi Lee was, let’s face it, once known primarily for her willingness to get naked, having posed for
Play..boy a couple of dozen times. While her one-time secondary claim to fame was several forgettable roles in several forgettable movies (including
A Night on the Water and Error in Judgment), Sung Hi Lee has slowly begun establishing herself as a credible actress with small roles in popular TV shows (such asThe Practice and
The King of Queens) and movies (like The Girl Next Door and
Nurse Betty).
2005 saw Sung Hi briefly join the cast of Days of Our Lives, though she only hung around for a few episodes. She spent much of the year renovating her Los Angeles-based home, which she documented in great detail on her official website. Her only film appearance in 2005 was a bit part in a straight-to-video comedy called
Death to the Supermodels, in which she played -- you guessed it -- a supermodel.
Given that she’s already got two movies lined up, 2006 promises to be a much busier year for the model-turned-actress.
Tripping Forward casts Sung Hi opposite one-time witch Amber Benson (from
Buffy the Vampire Slayer), in a story revolving around two roommates who begin selling cocaine to supermodels. Sung Hi will also be seen in a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s
Richard III alongside such notable names as David Carradine, Maria Conchita Alonso and Sally Kirkland.
