Without a doubt, Rachel Bilson is known solely for her work on The O.C. as spoiled rich kid Summer Roberts. Bilson is one of those rare actresses whose success seemingly came overnight, as her only other credited TV/film appearance is a role in a six-minute short from 2003. Her goofy charisma and obvious beauty have turned her into the breakout star of The O.C., alongside real-life and onscreen boyfriend Adam Brody.
Aside from the requisite talk show appearances (including Late Show with and The Tonight Show with ) that one expects from an up-and-coming star, 2005 was relatively quiet for Bilson. Her one non-O.C.-related project in 2005 was an inadvertent starring role on 's infamous reality show Punk’d, in which the actress was tricked into thinking her dog had caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.
In addition to the third season of The O.C., look for Rachel Bilson in her first film role this year. She’ll be starring alongside Zach Braff, Casey Affleck and in The Last Kiss, which was written by acclaimed scripter Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby). The film, which is based on the Italian flick of the same name, follows a group of 20-something adults as they attempt to find their place in life; it should prove whether or not Bilson has what it takes to move past Summer Roberts.
