Until a few years ago, Molly Sims was known primarily as a model, having appeared within the pages of
Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Edition (among other things) and hosted MTV’s
House of Style. But in 2003, she broke out as an actress with her role opposite James Caan in the NBC drama
Las Vegas. She has also dipped her toes into the cinematic side of the industry with small parts in films like
Frank McKlusky, C.I. and Starsky & Hutch.
Molly spent much of 2005 focusing on her work on Las Vegas and, in the process, kept a far more low-key profile than some of her costars did. She returned to her modeling roots by promoting Island, a new fragrance by famed designer Michael Kors, and appeared on several talk shows throughout the year, including
Late Night with , Last Call with Carson Daly and Live.
In 2006, we will be seeing more of Molly on the big screen, as she will appear in two promising comedies:
Venus & Vegas and The Benchwarmers. In the former, she stars alongside
Scrubs’ Donald Faison and American Pie’s Eddie Kaye Thomas in a story about three misfit crooks who try to balance their criminal endeavors with their relationships.
The Benchwarmers finds Molly cast opposite Rob Schneider and David Spade, with directing duties being handled by
Happy Gilmore’s Dennis Dugan (expect an cameo in that one).
