Trish Stratus |
Trish Stratus is undoubtedly one of the most well-known women in contemporary wrestling, thanks to her association with some of the genre’s most infamous names (including Val Venis and Chris Jericho). She started out with the then-named WWF in 2000, and it wasn’t long before she was smashing previously-established records (Stratus is the only woman to have won the Women’s title at the WWE Women’s Championship five times).
2005 was a busy year for Status, who kept extremely active in the WWE’s various events and showcases. She broke her own record when she won the Women’s title for a sixth time in January, then successfully defended it against fellow wrestler Melina at the 2005 edition of Survivor Series. Busy as she's been, Trish still takes the time to reflect on her past successes -- including her presence on this year's Top 99 list. There’s little doubt that Stratus will spend 2006 continuing to establish herself as a top wrestler, and it’s long since become clear that she’s not about to let her sex prevent her from dominating the genre. It seems inevitable that she’ll take a crack at acting, because -- as has already proven -- all one really needs to make it as a performer is a lot of attitude and charisma, both of which Stratus has in spades.
