Halle Berry |
The former Miss Teen All American made her big-screen debut as a crack addict in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever. Since then, she’s gone on to star in Die Another Day, Catwoman and Monster’s Ball, for which she won an Academy Award.
Halle stepped away from the world of big-budget movies in 2005 to make Their Eyes Were Watching God, an intimate telefilm based on a novel by Zora Neale Hurston. The gamble paid off as she went on to receive an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Mini-Series or Movie. Halle may not have won that award, but she did win the hearts of young fans as the voice of Cappy in the animated comedy Robots.
Look for Halle to return to form in 2006. She’ll be reprising her role as Storm in the highly anticipated X-Men 3, and will also take on some more dramatic fare alongside in Perfect Stranger, a story about obsessive love.
