Who said models can't act? This South African stunner proved she was more than just a pretty face by winning an Oscar for her performance in 2003's Monster. Mind you, we knew she was a great actress as early as 2001, when she pretended to take seriously in Sweet November.
Charlize demonstrated her remarkable range in 2005, playing both a female miner in North Country and a futuristic assassin in Aeon Flux. She then rounded out her year with several appearances on the critically acclaimed (and ultimately canceled) show Arrested Development.
Expect to see plenty of the well-dressed Charlize at this year's awards ceremonies. The leggy thespian was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in North Country and a similar nod could very well follow from the Academy. Charlize will also be appearing on the big screen in The Ice at the Bottom of the World and The Brazilian Job, a movie that, despite its name, sadly has nothing to do with Brazilian waxing.
